Licensed Social Worker-LMSW/LBHP

BACKGROUND

Forestdale is a NYC child welfare agency working to prevent child abuse/neglect through parenting, prevention, and foster care services, focusing on low-income and immigrant communities in NYC. Forestdale operates out of three offices to better serve the families of Brooklyn and Queens. We help thousands of families work through complex trauma, parents raise the next amazing generation of children, and youth successfully launch into adulthood. Job Summary

The Licensed Social Worker is responsible for clinical assessment, intervention and treatment planning for all children on their caseload in the foster care program. Clinical hours count towards LCSW.

Salary 

  • Masters/Limited License - $60,000
  • Masters/License - $65,000
  • Masters/License/Bilingual- $67,000 - $69,000

Major Responsibilities/Activities for this position include:

  • Performing clinical and trauma-based assessments; establish treatment goals and interventions, in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team (family, case planning, medical team, health homes.)
  • Providing trauma-informed treatment, TFCBT, CPP and others.  
  • Structuring interventions to decrease problem behavior and increase developmentally appropriate pro-social behavior.
  • Coordinating community mental health referrals.
  • Participating in case conferences and multidisciplinary clinical team meetings, as needed
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements 

  • Master’s degree from an accredited university in behavioral sciences or related field 
  • Preferred 1-3 years’ experience delivering direct services to children, youth and families.  
  • Compliance with:
    1. Required background checks, including NYS Statewide Central Register of Child Abuse/Maltreatment, NYS Sex Offender Registry, NYS Division of Criminal Justice Services fingerprinting, NYS Justice Center Staff Exclusion List, NYS OMIG Medicaid Exclusion List.
    2. Mandated reporter training.
    3. Applicable provisions of the NYS Education Law with respect to hiring and retaining of licensed professionals.
  • Spanish Speaking Required

Additional Comments

  • Limited permit is allowed with the condition that License will be obtained within two months prior limited permit expires.
