ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW
The Center for Better Aging (CBA) is a healthcare collaborative funded through the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services’ Healthcare Transformation Collaboratives (HTC) grant. Our mission is to transform health outcomes, nurture well-being, and reduce inequities for adults over 50 in Chicago’s Greater South Side community through whole-person care.
POSITION OVERVIEW
This internship offers students in public health or business/marketing the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in community outreach, member engagement, and health equity initiatives within a dynamic and impactful organization. The Outreach Executive Intern supports CBA’s mission by assisting with community outreach initiatives, engaging directly with members and partners, and contributing to the organization’s efforts to improve health outcomes. This role provides practical exposure to public health strategies, program implementation, and community engagement. It is designed to help students apply their academic knowledge while contributing meaningfully to real-world health initiatives.
This position requires a minimum 3-month commitment. Interns must have reliable transportation or a valid driver’s license and be available for weekend assignments.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Required Education: Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate Public Health program, Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- Preferred Experience: Prior experience in sales, lead generation, or customer acquisition is preferred but not required.
- Preferred Experience: Demonstrated success in meeting outreach or sales targets is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Preferred Experience: Prior experience in community engagement, event planning, or public health initiatives is a plus.
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Highly organized with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
PREFERRED SKILLS
- Prior experience with healthcare, insurance, or managed care organizations.
- Familiarity with social determinants of health and health equity principles.
- Experience with salesforce automation tools or data-driven outreach tracking.
- Bilingual proficiency.

REPORTING STRUCTURE
The Outreach Executive Intern reports directly to the Director of Member Engagement & Growth Strategy and collaborates with outreach and engagement teams to enhance community health efforts.
