Optician

We are seeking a knowledgeable and personable Optician to join our team. The Optician will assist patients in selecting frames, recommend lenses based on lifestyle and prescription needs, ensure proper fitting and adjustments, and support the optical team in delivering outstanding service.

Key Responsibilities

Greet and assist patients with frame selection that suits their style, face shape, and prescription requirements

Provide expert guidance on lens options, coatings, and lens technologies

Take accurate measurements (PD, segment height, etc.) for eyewear fittings

Adjust, repair, and troubleshoot eyewear for comfort and function

Process eyewear orders, verify prescriptions, and perform quality checks on finished glasses

Maintain frame displays and ensure optical area is organized and inviting

Educate patients on eyewear care and proper use of contact lenses (if applicable)

Support insurance verification and billing for eyewear purchases

Collaborate with doctors and staff to ensure a seamless patient experience

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required; ABO certification preferred but not required

Previous experience working as an optician or in optical sales strongly preferred

Excellent communication and customer service skills

Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting

Passion for eyewear, fashion, and helping patients feel their best

Experience

Minimum 1–2 years of recent experience in an optician or optical sales role required

Experience with electronic health records (EHR) and optical ordering systems is a plus
