Marketing Manager - Design, Social & Website

Sno-King Amateur Hockey Association is dedicated to youth hockey on Seattle’s Eastside. Established in 1964, Sno-King has provided the opportunity for players ages 4 to 18 to participate in select, recreational, or beginner ice hockey. The organization includes 65 youth teams with almost 950 players comprised of 51 youth and 14 girls teams. The program boasts five previous USA Hockey National Championships, six second-place finishes throughout Nationals history, plus numerous state, district, and local championships. Sno-King is the largest hockey organization in the region, who also operate 3 Sno-King Ice Arenas with five ice sheets.

Position Summary: 

The Marketing Manager is responsible for building content and creative for various marketing channels for all youth hockey programs and events. This role will also be responsible for scheduling coordinated marketing campaigns for all social & digital media, communications, events and website platforms in addition to other advertising channels as needed. Success in this position will require a keen understanding of the target audience, core marketing tools, hockey/facilities operations, seasonality, along with marketing expertise and project management skills. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

• Lead and coordinate the marketing content calendar for social, website, communications, events & advertising 

• Design & deliver marketing creative and assets. Champion the relevant branding guidelines. 

• Manage timely website updates, experience, and paid search ads 

• Schedule and create social content and email communications, including monthly digital newsletters 

• Assist with other marketing elements such as PR, events, partner/sponsor,s and collateral 

• Gather or take photos and video footage for marketing materials 

• Work with vendors, partners, and sponsors to deliver marketing plans as contracted 

• Prepare and review monthly reports with data insights and recommendations 

• Stay up to date with local, state, and national hockey programs and news & research marketing best practices 

• Flexible work schedule including evenings and weekends 

 

Ideal Experience

• Degree in marketing, creative design, communications, social media, digital media, web design or advertising 

• 5-7 years of marketing experience (digital, google analytics, social media, events, communications ideal) 

• Minimum 3 years of client services, program management or marketing agency experience 

• Knowledge, passion or interest in hockey, youth sports, recreation facility operations or ice sports is an asset 

• Strong, friendly interpersonal skills and client/customer service approach 

• Passion for results and knowledge to understand target audiences and marketing results 

• Experience with marketing platforms such as Canva, Adobe, DaySmart, Sprocket Sports, Mailchimp, WordPress, Google Analytics, and more to perform job functions 

• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and adapt to campaign changes as needed 

• Strong attention to detail and accountability to deliverables
