Role Overview:
The New York Life Investments Summer Internship Program is an exciting opportunity for rising juniors and seniors looking to gain the experience, skills, and support they need to help launch their careers. The 10-week paid internship will take place starting June 2026. Positions are available at New York Life Investments Management and its boutique firms, Apogem Capital, and MacKay Shields. Participants will take part in weekly intern events, such as Business Overviews, Meet & Greets with senior leaders, and macro economy conversations with our Global Market Strategy Team. Our program includes training and development seminars, networking opportunities, social events, a collaborative summer internship project culminating in an opportunity to be considered for a full-time rotational analyst role. In 2025, we offered three rotational analyst roles to NYLI summer interns.

With over $750 billion in assets under management, New York Life Investments is comprised of the affiliated global asset management businesses of its parent company, New York Life Insurance Company, and offers clients access to specialized, independent investment teams through its family of affiliated boutiques. Positions are offered in New York City and Jersey City in teams including Marketing, Product, Sales, Operations, and Data & Technology.
What You’ll Do
- Assist with data gathering and tax research
- Assist in preparing tax work papers, partnership allocations, FATCA compliance and investor tax reporting (e.g., Schedule K-1s)
- Work alongside inhouse tax professionals and our Big 4 tax advisors
What You’ll Learn
- A practical firsthand understanding of PE firms tax compliance and operations
- How tax considerations influence PE fund investments and operations
- Professional skills development such as collaboration in a fast-paced private equity environment
Who You Are
- A current undergraduate student (Rising Junior or Rising Senior in Summer 2026) pursuing Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Interested in building a foundation for a career in tax, accounting, or financial services
- Detail-oriented and eager to learn in a corporate setting
To be eligible for this program, you must be authorized to work in the U.S. We do not offer any type of employment-based immigration sponsorship for this program. Likewise, this program is not available to those authorized to work under optional practical training (OPT) or curricular practical training (CPT).

Pay Transparency
Salary Range: $26 - $31 / hour
Overtime eligible: Nonexempt
Discretionary bonus eligible: No
Sales bonus eligible: No
Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
