Scene Shop Assistant

Scene Shop Assistants provide support in the build, installation, and strike/storage of scenery for all Parkside Theatre productions. Applicants should have a basic understanding of working with manual and power tools. Priority is given to Theatre Arts majors/minors.

 

Responsibilities include:
• Work under the Technical Director, Scene Shop Supervisor, and head carpenter;
• Will involve working with manual and power tools, construction and electrical equipment, various adhesives, chemicals, and paints;
• Organizing, cleaning, and maintaining the scene shop, prop loft, scenic storage areas, and scene shop equipment;
• May involve heavy lifting (50 lbs);
• Maintain a safe shop environment with proper PPE (provided) and safety protocols;
• Willing to work at heights, on ladders and Genie lifts.
