2026 Summer Intern, Energy Analytics

ICF is seeking a detail-oriented candidate to support clients and projects on the Beneficial Electrification team in our Utility Programs and Services Division. Beneficial Electrification programs promote the displacement of fossil-fueled equipment with electric-powered equipment for clients and their customers. Examples of these programs include: Fleet Electrification Advisory Services, Building Electrification Services, Electric Vehicle (EV) and Electric Vehicle Support Equipment (EVSE) Incentive programs, and EVSE infrastructure solutions. By supporting these programs, you will help customers save money and reduce emissions while also growing utility electricity sales.  

You will provide a variety of support including research, data analysis, and operational support for Beneficial Electrification/EV programs.  

This is an entry-level, 10-week, full-time internship expected to begin in June and end in August. The intern may work fully remote from a U.S. location. Pay is expected to be $23 per hour. At this time, we are unable to provide housing nor relocation assistance for this position.    

 

What you will be doing:  

  • Collaborate with program team members and cross functional teams to support program success  
  • Analyze market trends, partners, and technologies to improve program delivery  
  • Support EV, EVSE, electrification, or incentive/grant research projects 

Basic Qualification: 

  • By start date, a minimum of 30 completed college-level credit hours is required preferably in Business, Sustainability, Environment, Communications, Policy or closely related discipline 
  • Must be able to pass any required background check(s), which may include drug screening.  

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communications and research skills  
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, remotely, and on projects with dynamic timelines  
  • Experience in MS Office Applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel)  
  • Detail-oriented  
  • Related trade experience and the initiative to embrace continuous learning toward becoming an expert in program technologies and offerings
