We provide space domain awareness and in-space servicing solutions for governments and businesses. iMETALX is seeking a talented and experienced software engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in developing cutting-edge software solutions for our various projects, contributing to the advancement of autonomous systems and intelligent spacecraft. This individual will work on Computer Vision, simulation, and R&D work we are developing with cross-domain applications, but primary focus on In-Space Servicing, Assembly, and Manufacturing (ISAM). Tangentially, there is work to be done with respect to Reinforcement Learning and Deep Neural Networks to build autonomy within the above solution set. Candidate should be a strong software developer that can work both for quick prototype code generation as well as support the refined software standards required for production-ready code. 

 

Responsibilities: 

Collaborate with the engineering team to design, develop, and test software and hardware products for space missions and satellite systems. 

Participate in software architecture design, coding, testing, and debugging activities. 

Assist in the development of algorithms, simulations, and data analysis tools for space applications. 

Contribute to the implementation of software and hardware components using Python and C++ programming languages. 

Support documentation and reporting tasks related to software and hardware development activities. 

Requirements: 

Must be a US Citizen- Due to federal contract requirements.

Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field. 

Proficiency in Python and C++ programming languages. 

Strong problem-solving skills and analytical thinking. 

Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. 

Passion for space exploration and technology innovation. 

Prior experience with software development projects or relevant internships is a plus.
