Great Valley High School is seeking an innovative, dedicated and compassionate Chemistry/Gifted Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will have a commitment to fostering a challenging and inclusive learning environment for all students. The teacher will play a key role in promoting an advanced curriculum that aligns with the Pennsylvania STEELS standards and supports the district’s K-12 STEAM vision. This position requires a professional who is dedicated to providing differentiated instruction that meets the diverse needs of all learners.

Responsibilities

  • Instruction and Curriculum Design: Collaborate with district-wide STEAM teams to maintain alignment with the district’s K-12 STEAM vision and goals. For the 2025-26 school year, support students with Gifted Individualized Education Plans (GIEPs). Plan and adapt differentiated lessons that address the individual strengths, learning styles, and needs of diverse learners, including students with different abilities, learning preferences, and cultural backgrounds
  • Classroom Environment: Create a safe, supportive, and equitable learning environment, including proper safety instruction and enforcement of lab procedures
  • Differentiation and Assessment: Differentiate instruction through flexible grouping, tiered assignments, and scaffolded support to ensure equitable access to content for all students
  • Collaboration and Professional Development: Collaborate and consult with colleagues, parents, and administrators. Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities
  • Family and Community Engagement: Communicate regularly with students and families regarding academic progress

 

 

 

Qualifications

  • Pennsylvania certification in Chemistry (Grades 7-12) required. AP Chemistry experience and multiple science certifications preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Education, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Experience teaching gifted students and using differentiated instructional strategies is highly preferred
  • Knowledge of and experience with the PA STEELS standards and the integration of STEAM disciplines in the classroom
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills

 $78,045 to $88,395 (Step 10)

Master's + 15 

 $80,520 to $91,120 (Step 10)

Master's + 30 

 $82,995 to $93,845 (Step 10)

Master's + 45 

 $85,470 to $96,570 (Step 10)

Master's + 60 

 $87,945 to $99,295 (Step 10)

Doctorate 

 $90,420 to $102,020 (Step 10)
