Elementary School Health Teacher

Health Teacher - Part-Time (0.03 FTE)

Hyde Park Central School District (HPCSD) is seeking a highly qualified and enthusiastic individual for a part-time Health Teacher position. This is a vacancy for the second quarter of the 2025-2026 school year, beginning on November 7th, 2025. This position is 0.03 FTE, which equates to teaching one class within a six day rotating cycle. 

Tentative Assignment: North Park Elementary School (subject to change)

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Developing and implementing engaging and standards-aligned health education lessons for assigned students.

Teaching one (1) health class per six-day cycle, effectively managing classroom time and student behavior.

Assessing student performance, providing constructive feedback, and maintaining accurate records of student progress.

Collaborating with other faculty, staff, and administration as necessary regarding student needs, curriculum, and school procedures.

Maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes student well-being and responsible decision-making.

Adhering to all District policies, school regulations, and the terms of the HPTA collective bargaining agreement.

Qualifications

Required Certification: New York State Certification in Health Education is mandatory.

Experience: Prior experience teaching health education is preferred.

Skills:

Strong knowledge of current health education best practices and curriculum.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.

Commitment to student safety and ethical professional conduct.
