Job Title: Director of Discipleship Ministries
Summary: Responsible for the overall Christian Education Program of the church from birth until the church triumphant.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Coordinate, plan, implement, and supervise the overall Discipleship Ministries of the church.
- Supervise the Children’s Director and Youth Director.
- Suggests, provides resources, and orders materials/curriculum for the St. John’s Discipleship Ministries, including training of Children and Adult Sunday School Teachers, and Adult Christian Education opportunities like Disciple Bible Study, Discipleship Groups (D-Groups) etc.
- Coordinate with the Church Council to develop and implement annual goals, budget, and ministries for all ages.
- Empower others to participate the ministries of St. John’s- Missions, Methodist Men & Women, Bible Studies, Safety, Children and Youth, etc.
- Responsible for recruiting, training, enabling, and resourcing teachers and other leaders educational ministry of the church- Sunday School Teachers, Small Group Leaders, and other lay ministries.
- Work with Associate Minister for Missions, Evangelism, and Young Adult Ministries to meet the specific needs of Young Adults
- Work with the Senior Adult Council to support and facilitate older adult ministries
- Make sure that our facilities and procedures provide a "safe sanctuary" for our children and vulnerable adults, and that St John’s Safe Sanctuary Policy is current and adhered to in all children's and adult programs and ministries.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Nurture personal spirituality through prayer, Bible Study, accountability of other believers, personal retreat, and worship
- Continue learning and growing in the Christian faith and take advantage of opportunities to enhance the ministries at St John’s
- Attend weekly staff meetings unless absence is approved by your supervisor
- Maintain a positive culture and team spirit among the St. John’s staff by modeling the core values of the church and supporting the Senior Minister’s vision for the church
- Other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor
