Job Position: Bilingual (English and Spanish Proficiency) Research Assistant Intern

General Summary:

Massachusetts General Hospital’s Disparities Solutions Center is seeking a part-time Graduate-level Research Assistant Intern to support a qualitative assessment of MGB Nutrition Equity Initiatives. 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Subject recruitment 
    • Outreach of potential participants
  • Data collection 
    • Conduct semi-structured interviews in English and in Spanish via Zoom 
    • Assist with participant remuneration 
  • Data analysis 
    • Conduct thematic analysis using Dedoose or another data analysis software
    • Meet with the project team to reach a consensus on thematic analysis 
  • Data dissemination 
    • Assist with reporting of findings including preparation of reports and/or manuscripts 
  • Other
    • Provide administrative support 
    • Maintain regular communication across teams 

Basic Qualifications and Experience:

  • The ideal candidate is currently enrolled in an MPH program and demonstrates an interest in health equity or health policy
  • Experience with conducting qualitative interviews is preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and across teams
  • Ability to work remotely and attend in-person meetings as needed
  • Language proficiency in English and Spanish is required

Time Commitment: 

  • 8 hours a week
