Sales Development Internship

SALES DEVELOPMENT INTERNSHIP

As a Sales Development Representative at Farrisilk, you will specialize in lead generation for our Inside Sales Team. You will work directly with an ex-Medical Tech Sales Director who worked at a hyper-growth startup that exited at a $1B valuation and raised over $300M in venture capital.  You will learn firsthand how to cold-call businesses across the country, and by working with our marketing department on special projects, you’ll play an integral role in building our sales pipeline and our business! The goal of this role is to help you build a professional career and get any sales job you apply to after college.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Farrisilk is looking for two Sales Development Representatives (SDRs) to join our team for a part-time, fast-paced, educational internship. You'll work closely with our experienced sales team to:

  • Source and prospect and cold call businesses specific to our industry 
  • Arrange meetings for our Inside Sales Team
  • Learn the basics of a CRM and how to stay organized by tracking activity to ensure sales close.
  • Qualify inbound leads from our customer base of professional decorators and retailers
  • Learn real sales fundamentals that you’ll actually use in future SDR roles, no matter the industry

 

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN

  • How to identify, call, and qualify leads (based on our ideal customer profile) in our CRM
  • Best practices for sourcing new prospects through research and specialized resources
  • How to book discovery calls and learn proven sales techniques that you can apply to any industry
  • How to prep for our largest annual trade show
  • Learn how to close sales over the phone, email, and in-person

  • Location: In-person at Farrisilk HQ in Placentia, CA
  • Schedule: 20 hours/week (2 days/week; flexible hours)
  • Eligibility:
    • College senior or recent grad
    • Strong communication skills (phone, email, and in-person)
    • Friendly, detail-oriented, and driven to learn
    • Interest in sales, startups, or retail/wholesale industries
