Trade Spend Data and Strategy Intern
Location – This is a hybrid role, which means that you will have the flexibility to work both onsite and at a distance. You will collaborate onsite at our La Farge, WI office for 3-5 days per week, and the rest of the time you can choose to work remotely or onsite.

Summary of Role
The Promotional Data Intern will be responsible for assisting with a variety of analytically based projects including developing a framework to recommend high profit return for various spend strategies. In addition, the intern will play a key role in supporting a new trade accrual spend model for the organization. You will work cross functionally with multiple departments to establish key spend management analysis.
This internship is designed for students who are eager to apply analytical skills, gain exposure to cross-functional operations, and learn how FP&A partners with commercial teams to drive business results.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
o Analysis of historical and current trade spend
o Analysis of evaluated promotions to determine highest profitability tactics
o Develop model to support sales team in determining trade strategy to maximize return for investment
o Perform post event analysis to establish trends and key learnings
o Establish guidelines for customer archetype execution (Hybrid vs Hi Lo vs EDLP)
o Develop and deploy an Excel based tool to serve as the framework for trade management and control
o Development of accrual method based on information in organizational TPM (Trade Promotion Management) system
o Documentation of workflows and processes developed during the internship period
o Prepare a synopsis of project experiences that is translated into a presentation to leadership at the end of internship
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
o Attend all required CROPP trainings
o Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
o Currently enrolled in post-secondary education with one year or less from graduation required.
o Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Data Analytics, or a related field preferred.
o Self-motivated, eager to learn, and a collaborative team player.
o Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
o Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
o Proficiency in MS Office products, especially Excel
o Handles confidential information with discretion
o Knowledge and interest in CPG industry is helpful
o Interest in organic and working with farmers and cooperative business model preferred.
Base hourly wage: $18.00/hour
Hours per week: 40 hours
Internship Program Overview:
- Program concludes after 12 weeks (first week of June start date)
