Job Purpose

As a UI/UX Design Intern at Welldoc, you'll join our expanding UI/UX team to help design and develop our mobile and web products. You'll work directly with a lead UI/UX designers and collaborate with various teams, including Product Managers, Business Analysts, Developers and Clinical Writers. Your main goal will be to create and deliver highly usable, viable, and feasible design solutions that align with our business objectives. You'll be involved in the UI/UX design and prototyping of both specific modules and entire applications across different digital platforms.

 

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Assist in creating creative and original designs that use consistent design patterns across different products.
  • Help build interactive prototypes for new features and modules. These prototypes will be used for early-stage usability testing and demonstrations.
  • Provide detailed, comprehensive design specifications and user flows to the Engineering Team for implementation
  • Work closely with the product development team, including product managers, engineers, and other designers. You'll learn how to effectively communicate your ideas and present designs to different team members. Prioritize and manage multiple design projects while meeting critical project milestones and deadlines

 

 

Required Skills & Experience

Required:

 

  • Hands-on experience with Figma / Sketch and collaborate with the Product Team to iterate on UI/UX flows
  • Self-starter with a high level of intellectual curiosity that executes independently and takes incredible pride in their work, willingness, and ability to learn new concepts
  • A basic and growing understanding of UI/UX and interaction design principles, use of typography, color and page layouts, with an eye for detail
  • Ability to work with remote teams and virtual stakeholders, while maintaining clear communication and meeting work expectations
  • Ability to balance priorities and communicate issues or the need for support.
  • Ability to justify design decisions through solid reasoning based on UI/UX principles, user research, and product knowledge to product managers and development teams.

 

Additional desirable skills:

 

  • Familiarity with native mobile and web design standards
  • Familiarity with WCAG 2.0 and accessibility guidelines

 

Welldoc operates in ISO 13485 and MDSAP regulated and HITRUST and SOC 2 Type II compliant environments.  Therefore, it is expected that all employees will have either prior experience working in those environments or will be trained to understand the requirements needed to work and support those requirements and culture as they relate to individual roles and responsibilities.

 

Required Education                                   

  • Currently enrolled in BA/BS or MS degree program in UI/UX Design (e.g., Interaction Design, Graphic Design, Product Design, Information Systems Design or similar concentration) or equivalent experience
  • Portfolio of solid, demonstrable UI/UX process and work samples showcasing end-to-end UI/UX skills
  • Appreciation of current and emerging UI/UX trends along with their potential benefits and limitations 

 

Compensation & Benefits

The anticipated salary range for this position is between $20-25/hour with the expectation that most candidates will fall around the midpoint of the range. Exceptional candidates may exceed the range if education and experience warrant.

 

Upon receipt of a conditional offer of employment, you may be required to complete and clear a multi-panel drug screening process.  This screening is in connection with requirements set by certain of the Company’s customers, with which you may be working in this role, and will at all times be administered all applicable laws.
