Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
This position will provide assistance to senior level government relations professionals as they execute strategies to secure new business, advance the interests of current clients, and maintain and build strong relationships within the Federal Government and the U.S. Congress.
This position will provide support by working closely with senior staff on scheduling and logistics; industry, legislative, agency funding opportunity and policy research; business development activities; drafting presentations, proposals and correspondence; and interacting with clients and government contacts.
Strong candidates will be able to understand complicated technologies quickly and learn to navigate the federal budget, providing useful analysis pertaining to clients and the firm. They will be able to communicate in a clear, concise manner with a wide range of individuals from other people in government relations to former military to engineers. They must have strong organizational and time management skills to be able to effectively balance client needs, their time, and other tasks. Candidates who have curiosity to learn about emerging technologies with an emphasis on defense are strongly preferred.
This entry level position will provide opportunities for growth as well as strong work experience and networking for other government and political positions, including on Capitol Hill.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university. Previous work experience in congressional offices, lobbying, and trade associations is desirable, but not required. Familiarity with national security issues and the federal budget process is desirable but not required. Candidates should possess strong writing, research and communication skills. Experience required with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
Salary: This position pays $65,625 annually and includes medical, dental, and vision benefits.
