About the Role

CQ Investigations, Inc. is seeking a Remote Interview Specialist with a background in journalism, media, or communications to conduct and coordinate interviews for investigative projects. You’ll engage subjects in thoughtful, well-prepared interviews focused on psychological, social, and biographical topics.

This is an excellent opportunity for students or recent graduates with strong interviewing, communication, and research skills who are looking to gain meaningful experience in media and legal storytelling.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct interviews and pre-interviews remotely via Zoom.

Prepare and guide interviewees on camera setup (lighting, audio, background).

Coordinate interview logistics: scheduling, outreach, and follow-ups.

Write interview summaries and assist in research or background preparation.

Manage tracking of interview data and contact logs.

Occasionally work flexible hours, including evenings/weekends.

What We’re Looking For

Journalism, Media, or Communications major (or related field).

2+ years of experience or relevant coursework in journalism or media production.

Comfortable on Zoom — professional camera presence and tech-savvy.

Excellent communication, research, and writing skills.

Organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented.

Prior interview or on-camera experience is a plus.
