Assistant STEAM Instructor - Elementary (Lafayette, San Francisco)
Part-time | Contract
Schedule: 3-4 hours/ week, during regular school schedules
Pay: $23.00 - $27.00 per hour
Location: Lafayette, San Francisco
Position Overview
We are seeking an Assistant STEAM Instructor to support our 4th–5th-grade classes. With detailed lesson plans provided, you’ll guide students through interactive projects that challenge their thinking and inspire their imagination.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the lead instructor in teaching 4–6 sessions per week, each lasting 45–60 minutes
- Lead dynamic STEAM lessons in science, coding, engineering, art, and math
- Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
- Manage setup and cleanup of class materials
- Communicate with the Program Coordinator on attendance and class progress
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience working with children in educational settings
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Dependable, flexible, and open to new challenges
- Background check and fingerprint clearance required
Preferred
- Experience in after-school or enrichment programs
- Positive, adaptable approach to supporting student growth
