Role Overview
We are hiring dependable Substitute Instructors to fill in when regular instructors are unavailable. You’ll work with 4th–5th grade students, leading fun, ready-to-go STEAM lessons in a safe and supportive classroom environment. This role is a great fit for flexible educators who enjoy variety and want to inspire young learners.
Responsibilities
- Teach 4–6 sessions per week (as needed), 45–60 minutes each
- Deliver pre-planned STEAM lessons (science experiments, coding, engineering builds, art projects, math games)
- Keep students engaged and on task while fostering collaboration and creativity
- Prep and organize classroom materials; ensure cleanup afterward
- Communicate promptly with the Program Coordinator about attendance and class updates
Qualifications
- 1+ year experience working with children in educational or enrichment programs
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Reliable, adaptable, and comfortable working in new school settings
- Must pass background check and fingerprint clearance
Preferred:
- Experience leading hands-on or creative learning activities
- Genuine enthusiasm for supporting students through exploration and play
