Metal Fabricator Welder/Entry Level Machinist

This position is a member of the Production Team. It is hourly, full-time, and reports to the Production Manager.
Your Role At A Glance
As a member of the Turner Exhibits Production Team, Metal Fabricators and Welders build and install custom kinetic architecture features and permanent exhibits for corporate, not-for-profit, and private clients for commercial and residential sites located throughout North America and abroad. This position is a member of the Production Team. It is hourly, full-time, and reports to the Production Manage
In Your New Role, You Will
- Read and interpret design and technical shop drawings.<
- Select the appropriate tool(s) and process(es) from a variety of electrical and manual equipment to complete fabrication tasks.
- Produce machine parts to tight tolerances.
- Cut and layout parts to achieve quality results that meet design and performance criteria.
- Produce appearance-grade, accurate, and structurally sound welds.
- Work in a professional manner and maintain equipment properly to ensure the safety of yourself and others.
- Collaborate with others in the Production, Design, and Project Management teams to successfully deliver complex projects from planning to completion.
- Seek out and utilize the expertise of your peers and management.
- Be an asset to the team, sharing your own expertise and experiences.
What You Will Need To Succeed
- Be able to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Have basic tool skills (i.e. angle grinder, orbital, bandsaw, etc.).
- Have forklift operation experience.
- Have prior fabrication building experience.
- GTAW experience required and FCAW/GMAW experience preferred.
- Interest in developing machining skills (manual mill and lathe work)
- Work safely, accurately, and efficiently to achieve high levels of quality.
- Contribute productively in a team environment.
- Have the capability and desire to communicate effectively with a diverse set of individuals within and outside of Turner Exhibits.
- Enjoy learning new skills and desire to continuously improve.
- Be willing to travel.
- Pass a TE (Turner Exhibits) administered weld/layout test.
Additional Requirements
- Valid WA state driver’s license and is insurable.
- Valid WA state automobile liability insurance.
- Ability to safely lift 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in Canada (no felony arrest record).
- Willingness to participate in customer-required drug testing.
- WABO and AWS certifications are welcome, but not required. Must be willing to test for WABO certifications.

At the time of posting this job, the hourly rate for this position in Lynnwood, Washington is between $23/hr. and $26/hr DOE. Total compensation offers are based on experience, education, and internal pay equity between employees with like-type roles and responsibility.
