Data Engineering Intern

Summary of Position

Niles Shared Services, LLC is a privately held and financially strong industrial services company that prides itself on the safety of its workers. Niles is seeking a curious and motivated intern to join our team. This internship offers hands-on experience working with real-world data pipelines, reporting tools, and infrastructure that support decision-making across the organization. You’ll collaborate with other team members to help build, maintain, and improve the systems that power our data-driven operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in building and maintaining data pipelines that collect, clean, and organize data from various sources
  • Support the development of dashboards and reports for internal teams
  • Help troubleshoot data quality issues and contribute to documentation
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to project planning and reviews
  • Learn and apply best practices in data engineering, including version control, testing, and automation

Required Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field
  • Familiarity with SQL and at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java, or Scala)
  • Interest in data architecture, cloud platforms, or business intelligence tools
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
