Peer Tutor - Business Courses

The Academic Success Center, in collaboration with the School of Business Administration, is seeking a Peer Tutor who will assist fellow students in understanding and mastering SBA course material, beginning in the Winter 2026 semester. Peer Tutors provide academic support, clarify concepts, and help students develop effective study strategies.

  • QMM Statistics
  • Finance
  • Marketing
  • MIS

Pay Rate: $15/hour

Duties:

  • Provide a welcoming and inclusive environment for students to learn
  • Conduct one-on-one and group tutoring sessions
  • Provide strategies to enhance understanding of course material
  • Utilize active listening to identify students' needs

Additional Information:

  • Shifts are determined by subject/course need and the tutor's course schedule.
  • Hours are scheduled during the range of: Monday through Thursday 10am - 10pm and Fridays 10am - 3pm.
  • This position will begin in January 2026. 

Qualifications:

  • Must be a currently enrolled OU student in a degree-seeking program with one or more listed courses completed at OU.
  • Second-semester freshman standing or higher
  • Minimum 3.7 GPA (A-) in the course(s) tutored
  • Adequate demonstration of time/task management skills
  • Must complete up to 10 hours of paid training toward tutor certification
  • Obtain a minimum of one recommendation form from a current OU faculty member. Faculty can access and complete the form using the following link: OU Faculty Recommendation Form
