Box Office Intern (Part-Time, For-Credit Option)

About The Cabooze

For over 50 years, The Cabooze has been a cornerstone of Minneapolis live music. We’re seeking a student interested in hospitality, business operations, or the music industry to join our team as a Box Office Intern. This is a front-line role where you’ll learn the ins and outs of ticketing, customer service, and venue operations.

Role Overview

As a Box Office Intern, you’ll be the first point of contact for many guests. You’ll manage ticket sales, will-call lists, and guest entry while learning how live event operations flow from the front door to the stage. This role is perfect for students who enjoy working with people, problem-solving on the spot, and gaining real-world experience in entertainment operations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with ticket sales, scanning, and will-call check-ins.
  • Manage guest lists and provide excellent customer service.
  • Work with security and event staff on entry flow.
  • Handle cash/card transactions with accuracy.
  • Support pre-show and post-show box office setup/teardown.
  • Provide feedback on guest experiences and event flow.

Qualifications

  • Friendly, professional, and customer service–oriented.
  • Comfortable with technology (ticket scanners, basic POS systems).
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work evenings/weekends.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • No prior box office experience required — training provided!
