Paid Communications Internship
Elect Katie Hobbs is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Press
Intern to begin in Fall 2025 in Phoenix, AZ. This internship offers hands-on
experience in a fast-paced communications environment, working closely with the
Communications Director and staff. Interns will gain practical skills in press
operations and political communications while contributing to the campaign’s
messaging strategy.
Throughout the internship, you will be an integral part of the communications team,
taking on meaningful projects that include drafting press materials and supporting
media outreach. This is a unique opportunity to learn how political communications
work in real time and gain valuable experience that will prepare you for a career in
public affairs.
Qualifications: We are looking for students or early-career professionals with strong
writing and research skills, an interest in political communications, and the ability to
work effectively under pressure and tight deadlines. Prior experience in
communications, press, or digital media is a plus but not required. This is a paid
internship, and interns are expected to commit to at least 20 hours per month.
Responsibilities:
●Compile, monitor, and distribute daily news clips and media coverage
●Draft press releases, newsletters, talking points, statements, video scripts,
and other communications materials
●Clip and edit remarks, speeches, and media appearances
●Build, maintain, and update press lists and media databases
●Support newsletters and website content updates
●Assist with rapid response communications and prepare daily reports
Provide general communications and administrative support
