Training and Development Intern

Summary of Position

Niles Shared Services, LLC is a privately held and financially strong industrial services company that prides itself on the safety of its workers. Niles is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented intern to support our training and development initiatives. This role is ideal for students or recent graduates interested in human resources, organizational development, or instructional design. The intern will assist in creating, organizing, and evaluating training materials and events that support employee growth and onboarding.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and editing of training materials, presentations, and handouts 
  • Help coordinate logistics for in-person and virtual training sessions (e.g., scheduling, room setup, registration) 
  • Support onboarding activities for new hires, including assembling welcome packets and tracking completion of required training 
  • Maintain and update training records and databases 
  • Collect and analyze feedback from training sessions to support continuous improvement 
  • Collaborate with HR and department leads to identify training needs and opportunities 
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions for new learning initiatives and engagement strategies
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Human Resources, Education, Communications, or a related field 
  • Strong organizational and communication skills 
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and virtual meeting platforms 
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines 
  • Interest in employee development and workplace learning
