Assistant Service Representative

Summary: Support the Commercial Department with technical tasks such as complex Certificates of Insurance, Endorsements, and MVRs.  This is an entry-level position with advancement opportunities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Assist the team with day-to-day duties such as emailing policies, tasking and directing work to Virtual Assistants
  • Process Team’s new mail tasks, complete complex endorsements from the carrier, assuring correctness. 
  • Develop an understanding of the renewal and marketing processes, send follow-ups when requested.
  • Learn how to quote coverages online for Account Managers 
  • Run MVRs, and complete endorsements such as adding drivers and vehicles, equipment, 
  • Create complex Certificate of Insurance and Evidence of Property coverage documents.

Qualifications:

  • Education/Experience:  College Degree or completion of degree within six months to one year.
  • Language Ability:  Fluent in the Korean language and the ability to read and interpret policy & contract documents in English & Korean.  Ability to speak effectively with customers or colleagues and type routine correspondence.
  • Math Ability:  Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, and area. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Reasoning Ability:  Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Computer Skills:  To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel 
  • Certificates and Licenses:  Not applicable.  HDB will assist in the attainment of necessary licenses. 

Supervisory Responsibilities:  This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
