Project Engineer Summer Internship

Performing the highest-quality construction for over two decades, New York City based Mass Contracting provides general contracting, construction management, and pre-construction to a broad range of commercial clients in the New York metropolitan area, including many Fortune 500 companies.

As a certified women-owned business, Mass Contracting is seeking a highly motivated Project Engineer Intern for the Summer of 2026 to assist with the coordination, development, and project management functions of our firm's interior construction division and their strategic growth. The qualified candidate should be flexible, able to multi-task in a fast-paced team environment where deadlines are key.

Upon joining Mass Contracting as an intern, you’ll work collaboratively, as part of a team, on building proposals, comparing subcontractor costs, and developing strong subcontractor relationships. This is a highly visible position with clear exposure to senior leadership and unique mentorship opportunities.

QUALIFICATIONS / BASIC JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Interest in Project Management, and/or Engineering
  • Experience within the engineering field (mechanical, chemical, electrical, civil) is a plus
  • Thorough knowledge of Excel and Word is required
  • Understanding of industry specific software (Procore, Plangrid, etc.) and solid administration skills
  • Capable of working with tight deadlines and excellent time management skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Must demonstrate the following competencies to perform the essential functions of this position: analytical; problem solving; planning/organizing; dependability; scheduling, team building.
