Environmental Justice Intern
Spring Environmental Justice Intern at Tri-Valley CAREs will work assist the organization in community organizing; coalition building with other organizations and community groups; creating written outreach/environmental educational materials and fact sheets; attending community events, tabling opportunities and meetings; producing social media content; and assisting in activating community participation in a federal public comment process on an Environmental Impact Statement.
We are looking for someone who is able to grasp our mission, learn about the relevant environmental issues and can build up to effectively speaking on behalf of the organization at small events, and when interfacing with other organizations.
Ability to use and post on our social media accounts. Ability to clearly write, edit and communicate in short form on topics relevant to our work. Ability to serve as a point person and attend event planning meetings. Ability to take notes during meetings.
We expect the intern to work for 24-30 hours a week during the Summer. This intern will be paid a $17.50/hr. and is no eligible for benefits. Expected to be 12-16 weeks.
