The City of Kentwood Parks and Recreation Department is looking for a skilled and motivated Business Operations Supervisor to join our leadership team. This is a unique opportunity to combine finance, business operations, and community impact all in one role.

What You’ll Do
As the Business Operations Supervisor, you’ll play a key role in both the business and community sides of our department. You will:
- Oversee department finances, budgets, and reporting to ensure fiscal accountability.
- Identify and secure grants, sponsorships, and fundraising opportunities to expand programs.
- Build strong relationships with city leaders, partners, and community stakeholders.
- Lead and support staff through coaching, mentorship, and supervision.
- Ensure resources are used strategically to support over 1000 recreation programs, 15 parks, and 13 miles of trails that make Kentwood a vibrant community.
This is not just a finance role, it’s a chance to influence how resources fuel recreation, wellness, and growth for thousands of residents.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $63,300–$84,832, depending on experience
- 12% employer retirement contribution - well above industry average
- Up to 5 weeks vacation, 12 sick days, 11 holidays, and 3 personal days annually

About You
You’re a business-minded leader who’s as comfortable with numbers as you are with people. You bring innovative ideas, a knack for problem-solving, and a collaborative spirit.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, recreation management, or related field
- 3+ years of progressive business leadership experience
- 2+ years supervisory experience (or equivalent combination of education/experience)
- Valid Michigan driver’s license
- CPR, AED & First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
