Role Type: Independent Contractor (Commission-Only)
Compensation: 25% commission on all closed sponsorship deals (uncapped)

Role Overview

We are seeking a driven Sponsorship Sales Representative to sell sponsorship packages and partnership opportunities for Our True Colors’ episodes, events, and activations. This is a fully commission-based role (25% per closed deal) — perfect for a self-starter who thrives on relationship-building, pitching, and closing deals that support cultural storytelling.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prospecting & Outreach
    • Research and identify companies, nonprofits, and organizations aligned with Our True Colors’ mission.
    • Initiate contact via email, phone, and LinkedIn to pitch sponsorship opportunities.
  • Sales & Closing
    • Present media kits, audience insights, and sponsorship decks to prospective partners.
    • Negotiate sponsorship agreements and close deals that meet or exceed revenue goals.
  • Relationship Stewardship
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for sponsors, ensuring expectations and deliverables are clearly communicated.
    • Maintain relationships for future collaborations and recurring sponsorships.

 

Collaboration

Coordinate with the production and editorial teams to deliver sponsor activations (logo placement, branded content, panel mentions, etc.).

 

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in sponsorship sales, media partnerships, or fundraising preferred.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and networking skills.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and comfortable working on commission-only structure.
  • Familiarity with diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives is a plus.
  • Based in Charlotte, NC a plus but not a requirement.
