Summer 2026 Data Science Intern (Wilmington, NC or Lehi, UT)
As a Data Science intern, you'll work onsite—preferably in Wilmington, NC, but we're open to Lehi, UT—alongside experienced data scientists to identify business challenges and opportunities in the banking industry. This 12-week, in-person program offers hands-on experience analyzing complex datasets, extracting meaningful insights, and contributing to data-driven solutions that unite people, AI, and data.

Objectives:
Learn foundational data science methodologies and nCino's approaches to achieving excellence in data science
Assist with ongoing data science projects, including data preparation, analysis, and solution development
Develop skills in creating machine learning, predictive modeling, and advanced analytics tools under team guidance
Apply basic analytical skills and business acumen to help solve routine business problems within the team
Build communication skills for presenting findings and interacting across analytics and data science functions
Participate in team meetings, present initial findings, and document processes and learnings

Technical Requirements:
Programming: Academic experience with at least one data science language (Python or R preferred)
Data Handling: Familiarity with data manipulation, cleaning, and transformation
Statistics & Analysis: Foundational knowledge of statistical methods and data analysis
Machine Learning: Exposure to machine learning algorithms through coursework or projects
Visualization: Basic experience creating charts and visualizations for data storytelling
Databases: Understanding of SQL and database concepts
Development Practices: Awareness of version control (Git) and programming best practices
Cloud Tools: Exposure to AWS services is a plus
Visualization Platforms: Familiarity with tools like Tableau, DOMO, or QuickSight preferred but not required
Software Practices: Understanding of unit testing and development workflows is a plus
Additional Requirements:
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree a recent graduate in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field
Willingness to work onsite at one of our North American locations - Wilmington, NC or Lehi, Utah.
Full time availability, from May 2026 - August 2026
