Position Overview:
This is an entry-level internship designed for individuals with little to no prior experience in medical billing or coding. The Medical Biller and Coder – Data Entry Intern will receive training and mentorship while assisting with basic billing, coding, and data entry tasks. This role is perfect for students, career changers, or recent graduates looking to break into the healthcare industry.
Responsibilities:
- Learn to assign medical codes (CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS) with guidance and training
- Assist with entering patient and billing information into electronic systems
- Support the preparation and submission of insurance claims
- Help track payments, follow up on claims, and resolve errors
- Maintain accuracy and confidentiality while handling patient data
- Gain knowledge of HIPAA compliance and healthcare regulations
- Collaborate with the billing team on day-to-day tasks
Qualifications:
- No prior experience required — training will be provided
- Interest in healthcare administration, medical billing, or coding
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn new systems
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, typing, navigating web platforms)
