Equipment Maintenance Intern

Job Title: Intern (Equipment Maintenance)

Work Location: Fuyao Glass America, Dayton, Ohio

About the Role:

This position is designed to provide hands-on experience in equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair processes. Interns will work closely with experienced technicians to learn best practices and industry standards. The ultimate goal is to contribute to the overall efficiency of our operations, ensuring that all equipment is functioning at peak performance. By the end of the internship, candidates will have gained valuable skills and insights into the maintenance field, preparing them for future career opportunities.

Responsibilities:

• Continue routine maintenance and inspection of the equipment.
• Help troubleshoot and repair equipment malfunctions under the guidance of senior technicians.
• Document maintenance activities and maintain accurate records of repairs and inspections.
• Participate in training sessions to learn about new equipment and maintenance techniques.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be enrolled in an Engineering Degree, Technical Certification program, or other related Industrial Maintenance program.
  • Electrical, Mechanical, Automation Systems, Mechatronic, or other STEM programs are preferred.
• Microsoft Office Application skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
• Analytical, organizational, multi-tasking, and detail-oriented skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a maintenance or repair role, even if informal.
• Understanding of (and/or experience working with) 480V power supply and 3-phase electrical systems.
• Fluent in English. (and/or Mandarin Chinese, Spanish)
• Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Familiarity with safety protocols and procedures in a maintenance environment.

Skills:

The required skills for this position include a foundational understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, which will be applied daily in troubleshooting and maintenance tasks. Attention to detail is essential, as interns will need to accurately document maintenance activities and identify potential issues. Communication skills will be utilized when collaborating with team members and reporting findings to supervisors. Preferred skills, such as familiarity with safety protocols, will enhance the intern's ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. Overall, both required and preferred skills will contribute to the intern's growth and success in the equipment maintenance field.
