Position: AI/ML Engineering Intern
Location: Remote (U.S. preferred)
Commitment: At least 4 hours per day, afternoons required
Compensation: $30-35/hour
About the Role
We are seeking a hands-on AI/ML Engineering Intern to work on building, training, and optimizing machine learning models for real-world applications. This role is perfect for someone eager to deepen their practical experience with industry-standard tools and workflows while contributing to impactful, data-driven projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, train, and fine-tune models using XGBoost, LightGBM, Random Forest, and basic neural networks.
Build and maintain data pipelines for cleaning, transformation, and feature engineering with Python, Pandas, and PySpark.
Track experiments and performance metrics with MLflow or similar platforms.
Manage version control and collaborative workflows using GitHub.
Conduct data analysis to extract actionable insights for model improvement.
Support integration and deployment of models into production environments.
Requirements:
Strong programming skills in Python and working knowledge of SQL.
Familiarity with ML frameworks such as Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
Experience with ML lifecycle tools like MLflow or Weights & Biases.
Understanding of model evaluation techniques and recommender system concepts.
Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and communicate technical findings clearly.
(Bonus) Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
