Weekend Anchor/Multimedia Journalist

JOB SUMMARY:

WICZ-TV, the Fox affiliate in Binghamton, New York, is seeking a full-time weekend anchor/MMJ.

POSITION PROFILE:

  • Who does the position report to? Suh Neubauer, News Director 
  • What are the key responsibilities of the role? Anchor and produce the 10 p.m. 
  • Weekend news anchoring and three days a week as a multimedia journalist.

 

 

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Produce and anchor the weekend 10 p.m. news. 
  • Oversee and motivate your weekend crew to produce great content. 
  • Go live for the 6 and 10 p.m. weekday news. 
  • Shoot, write and edit news stories. 
  • Research and enterprise local news stories. 
  • Write, shoot and edit reporter packages and VO/SOTs. 
  • Write stories for the website and social media.

 

WHAT YOU WILL BRING:

  • Prior experience as a reporter, anchor and producer at a college television station is strongly preferred, or previous experience as an associate producer/writer at a commercial TV station. 
  • Experience using Ross Inception strongly preferred. 
  • Experience using Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat. 
  • Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge of Premiere Pro and LiveU. 
  • Strong writing and editorial judgment.
  • The candidate should have a dynamic presence and must be comfortable on camera with the ability to ad-lib during live newscasts.
