Community Care Network is seeking a full time and part time North End Ranch Shift Leader to join our team!
Community Care Network is comprised of Rutland Mental Health Services and Rutland Community Programs. Our mission is to enhance the well-being of our communities, individuals and families through responsive, innovative and collaborative human services.
About the Role:
In addition to Direct Support Professional (DSP) responsibilities, the Shift Leader will provide oversight of the day to day operations and maintain a safe and healthy residential environment. The Shift Leader will coordinate services, maintain adherence with daily schedule, ensure goals are being met identified by the Individualized Service Agreements (ISA), mentor new staff, assist with staffing coverage. The Shift Leader will steer effective communication and a good working relationship with the team across all shifts to deliver efficient and effective care to the residents.
Principal Responsibilities:
- These responsibilities are in addition to the North End Ranch DSP responsibilities:
- Assist with training and orienting new DSP staff and continued training compliance for all North End Ranch staff.
- Assist with DSP scheduling to meet the needs of the program.
- Assists with staffing coverage as needed.
- Maintain adherence with daily schedule and communicates with the Manager if there are any changes.
- Demonstrates willingness to work with and for others in a respectful manner.
- Responds appropriately to emergency situations.
- Participates in meetings, trainings, in-services and supervision as scheduled.
- Works as an effective team member for the support team.
Qualifications and Competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree in psychology, human services, social work or related field preferred; High School diploma required.
- Must be able to work 2nd shift (1:45pm-10:15pm)
- A minimum of one year experience in a DSP position or similar position required.
- Previous supervisory experience preferred.
- Knowledge and ability to work effectively with adults experiencing acute psychiatric symptoms as a part of a team of professional care providers.
- Understanding of the etiology and treatment of mental illness.
- Ability to provide recovery-oriented counseling/support.
- Ability to balance autonomy and work within team structure
- Must have a valid driver’s license, and reliable transportation with personal automobile liability insurance coverage at or above the levels mandated by the State of Vermont.
- *Successful completion of a criminal history background check after hire.
