GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:
The Christmas Coordinator - Seasonal supports The Salvation Army Orrville-Maiwurm Service Center
during the Christmas season by assisting with the coordination of seasonal programs and activities. This
position plays a key role in organizing the Red Kettle Campaign, Angel Tree Program, and Christmas
Food Box distribution, helping ensure that all efforts run smoothly and effectively in service to the
community. This position will entail handling money and volunteers’ personal information, it must be
done with utmost integrity and confidentiality.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assist in coordinating the Red Kettle Campaign, including recruiting, calling, and scheduling
volunteers for multiple kettle locations.
2. Support the delivery, pickup, and monitoring of kettle supplies at various sites.
3. Respond to phone calls and messages from individuals and groups interested in bell ringing,
including during non-office hours as needed.
4. Assist with coordination of the Christmas Food Box and Angel Tree programs, including
delivering materials to donors, picking up donations, and supporting client intake as needed.
5. Provide hands-on assistance during collection and distribution days, including setup, facilitation,
and tear down.
6. Maintain accurate records and schedules related to seasonal programs.
7. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Service Center Director.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
While this position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities, they will oversee cohorts of
volunteers.
MINIMUM EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
 No specific education requirements.
 Experience with customer service, volunteer coordination, or scheduling is preferred but not
required.

SPECIAL SKILLS, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
 Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
 Ability to maintain and manage scheduling calendars.
 Flexibility to work variable hours, including occasional evenings or weekends.
 Ability to lift, carry, and transport supplies as needed.
 Valid driver’s license preferred.
 Enthusiasm for and commitment to the mission of The Salvation Army.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position is part-time and seasonal, beginning October 15 and lasting no longer than 90 days, or
through the duration of the Christmas season. The position is 20-25 hrs/week, but hours may vary
depending on program needs. Work will be performed in both an office setting and at community
locations, including kettle sites, donor locations, and distribution events.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
 Must be able to meet regular attendance requirements and to be reachable outside of standard
office hours as needed.
 Ability to comfortably sit for extended periods (for scheduling, phone & message work) and also
to stand or walk for short/occasional periods (e.g. during set up / distribution / kettle site
oversight).
 Ability to drive locally, deliver/pick up supplies, donation materials, etc. Requires use of personal
vehicle and a valid driver’s license.
 Ability to lift and carry moderate weight: up to ~40 lbs (equipment, donation boxes, kettle
supplies) occasionally; lighter loads more frequently.
 Ability to work both indoors (office, donor locations) and outdoors (kettle sites, pickups/drop‐off
points) including exposure to weather variations (cold, rain, snow, etc.).
 Flexibility for standing, lifting, walking, bending, reaching as needed during
collection/distribution/set up events.
