Stormwater Training Specialist

Hiring Range: $65,000-$90,000

Full Time or Part Time: FULL TIME

Closing at: September 20, 2025

 

This position is primarily responsible for designing, developing, implementing and evaluating training to educate and inform stakeholders of stormwater management and erosion and sediment control laws and regulations. This position is required to travel. If selected for an interview, the applicant will be required to deliver a five-minute presentation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

This position is primarily responsible for:

  • Designing, developing, delivering, and improving Stormwater and Erosion certification training using a combination of online and in-person training methods. 
  • Designing, developing, delivering, and improving Stormwater and Erosion continuing education training using a combination of online and in-person training methods. 
  • Participating in certification exam blueprint verification meetings, including writing and editing exam questions. 
  • Applying knowledge of adult training and development, program management, curriculum development and evaluation methodology.
  • Applying knowledge of project management, group facilitation, and consultation. 
  • Managing multiple projects simultaneously and from inception to launch to follow-up.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of stormwater management and erosion and sediment control regulations.

Knowledge of adult learning principles, training development, training delivery, and training evaluation and administration.

Skilled in presentation and facilitation, problem solving, planning and analysis, process improvement, and interpersonal relations. 

  • Abilities in strategic, creative, and innovative thinking. 
  • Skilled in project management with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and from inception to launch to follow-up.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to adapt to changing needs and priorities.
  • Experience using online course development software. 
  • Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office 365. 
  • Skilled in using virtual meeting applications including Microsoft Teams, GoTo Webinar, and other similar technologies. 
  • Familiarity with learning management systems.
  • Combination of education or training with major coursework in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or Education.
  • DEQ certification as a Dual Combined Administrator is preferred or obtained within 12 months of employment in the position. 
  • Valid driver's license required.
