Postdoctoral Fellow - Urology - Research

Dr. Byron Lee's laboratory is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to join a focused, collaborative team investigating how mutations in chromatin-modifying genes drive bladder cancer initiation, progression, and therapeutic response. We take on high-impact, innovative projects that bridge molecular mechanisms with translational relevance.

Our research integrates biochemical, molecular, and cell biology approaches with genome editing, next-generation sequencing (including single-cell and spatial transcriptomics), and patient-derived and genetically engineered mouse models to uncover how chromatin regulation shapes tumor biology and immune interactions.

What we are looking for

• Deep understanding of cancer biology, with mastery of core techniques in molecular biology, biochemistry, and cell biology.
• Strong publication record demonstrating both independent productivity and effective teamwork.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Highly desirable: experience in computational biology (NGS data analysis) and/or mouse cancer models.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

The fellow will:

• Design, execute, and troubleshoot experiments with a high standard of rigor and reproducibility.
• Drive independent projects from conception to publication.
• Analyze and interpret complex datasets (in vitro, in vivo, and -omics).
• Present findings in internal meetings and at national/international conferences.
• Contribute to grant writing and manuscript preparation.

All duties and responsibilities are carried out in compliance with institutional policies, ethical research standards, and applicable federal and state regulations

Eligibility Requirements

Eligibility

• Recent Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. in cancer biology, molecular biology, or a related field.
