Position Overview
We are seeking motivated and empathetic Counseling Interns to join our team. Interns will gain valuable supervised experience in providing support to clients, assisting with administrative and program-related tasks, and learning the day-to-day operations of a professional counseling practice. This role is ideal for students currently enrolled in a counseling, psychology, social work, or related degree program who are seeking practicum or internship hours.
Responsibilities
Provide counseling support to individuals, couples, or families under direct supervision of a licensed therapist
Participate in intakes, assessments, and treatment planning (as appropriate to training level)
Observe therapy sessions and co-facilitate groups or workshops
Maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with ethical and legal standards
Engage in regular supervision meetings and case consultations with licensed staff
Assist with research, resource development, and outreach projects
Support administrative tasks such as scheduling, documentation, and program coordination
Participate in professional development activities, trainings, and team meetings
Qualifications
Currently enrolled in a Master’s or Doctoral program in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related mental health field
Eligible to complete practicum or internship hours as required by academic program
Strong interpersonal, communication, and active listening skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism
A heart for helping others and a commitment to learning and growing as a future counselor
Familiarity with counseling ethics, diversity awareness, and trauma-informed care is a plus
