Outbound Supervisor

Position Overview:
The Outbound Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all outbound operations within the e-commerce fulfillment center. Supervisors are responsible for the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the outbound logistics process, including managing daily shipping activities, ensuring timely and accurate order fulfillment, supervising outbound team members, and driving operational excellence to meet service level agreements (SLAs), shipping deadlines, and quality standards.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Supervise outbound shipping processes including picking, packing, quality control, and shipping.
  • Ensure accurate and timely fulfillment of customer orders across multiple e-commerce platforms.
  • Monitor workflow, staffing levels, and productivity to ensure outbound targets and KPIs are met.

    Performance Metrics (KPIs):

    > Order Accuracy Rate
    > On-Time Shipment Rate
    > Picking/Packing Productivity
    > Staff Attendance

  • Coordinate with carrier partners (UPS, FedEx, USPS, etc.) for timely pickups and shipping issue resolution.
  • Lead and develop a team of outbound associates, providing training, performance feedback, and corrective actions as needed.
  • Implement and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for outbound operations.
  • Collaborate with inventory, inbound, and customer service teams to resolve order or product issues.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Generate and analyze reports related to order accuracy, shipping performance, labor productivity, etc.
  • Other assignments from the manager.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain, or business preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in outbound operations in a warehouse or fulfillment center, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
  • Strong understanding of e-commerce fulfillment, shipping platforms, and warehouse management systems (WMS).
  • Familiarity with inventory tracking and management systems. Understanding of relevant safety regulations and procedures.
  • Experience working with major carriers (FedEx, UPS, USPS, etc.) and shipping software.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively, and able to identify and resolve issues related to outbound operations. Thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours or weekends as needed.
