Commercial Strategy Intern

As a Commercial Strategy Associate Intern, you will support our business objectives through data analysis, process standardization, and strategic reporting. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in commercial strategy while collaborating with cross-functional teams and mentors to streamline processes, monitor market trends, and enhance product performance metrics. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in engineering or business disciplines, strong analytical skills, and proficiency in data visualization and reporting tools. This role holds significant responsibility for managing intelligence that will drive critical business decisions and includes visibility and interaction with senior leadership.

 

What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)

While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:

  1. Commercial Pricing:
    • Document, analyze, and capture the pricing process to identify opportunities for improvement and efficiency.
  2. Product Management Processes
    • Standardize and document processes to support consistent execution and alignment across teams.
  3. Market Monitoring:
    • Track key market indicators and develop regular reports to inform decision-making and strategy.
  4. Performance Modeling and Dashboards:   
    • Create models and dashboards to analyze product performance, enabling data-driven business strategies.

We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:

Required Experience

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering, Engineering Management, Business, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with Teams and Zoom.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build relationships across teams.

 

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Interest in commercial strategy, product management, or market analysis.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a hybrid environment.

 

Education & Certifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering, Engineering Management, Business, or a related field.

 

 Travel & Working Environment

  • The Commercial Strategy Intern will work in a hybrid model, with three remote workdays and two in-office days at the designated location.
