Position Overview:

As a Project Engineering Intern, you will provide project support to our Research and Development (R&D) team by assisting with project planning, execution, and close out activities.

Location:

The position will be located in Lynchburg, VA at the Advanced Technologies Office.

Your Day to Day as a Project Engineering Intern:

• Provide project support for R&D.
• Support projects involving additive manufacturing, advanced materials development, artificial intelligence, digital twin, and space nuclear applications.
• Coordinate project planning, execution, and close out activities.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation, including plans, progress reports, and schedules.
• Monitor project timelines and budgets, ensuring projects stay on track.
• Coordinate procurement of materials and services required for project completion.
• Communicate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and clients to ensure smooth project execution.
• Analyze data to generate insights and reports that support project decision-making.
• Uphold and promote quality assurance and safety protocols in project execution.
• Attend customer meetings for soft skill development.

Required Qualifications:

• Must be a currently enrolled student, pursuing an engineering ot physics degree (i.e. chemical, systems, mechanical, etc.).
• Must have basic implementation knowledge of Python programming language (or other high-level scripting language) e.g., for data pipeline projects and R&D focused business intelligence.
• Must be willing to learn in both business and technical domains.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
