Intramural Referee- Campus Recreation- UUWS

Do you love sports? Are you looking for a fun, on-campus job to build your resume and gain work experience? If so, you're in the right place! Campus Rec is hiring Intramural Referees for the 2025-2026 year.  

*Intramural referees may choose to be employed for one or two sports or attempt to be hired for all officiated sports with training. 

What You Can Expect:  

You can expect to work on a team focused on achieving semesterly goals. You can expect to develop your communication skills, professionalism, conflict management, customer service, and operational skills through your employment with Campus Recreation. Additionally, you can expect to develop a relationship with your supervisors centered around succeeding at your tasks assigned and growing further in your professional skills, as related. 

What You Will DO:

• Oversee and ensure operations run smoothly during gameplay by enforcing the rules of each intramural sport.
• Participate in the set-up and take down for numerous competitive sports.
• Demonstrate an understanding of intramural sports with the ability to educate lower-level players on the infractions to increase the knowledge and skills of the players.
• Maintain a professional, level-headed, unbiased approach to game calling and rule enforcement.
• Address rules, dress codes, policies, procedures, or conduct issues as they arise.
• Accurately account records of major rule infractions and injuries on the appropriate forms.
• Assist the timekeeper and scorekeeper by utilizing effective verbal and nonverbal communication when impactful events or infractions occur.
• Collaborate and work with a team to ensure the most efficient and successful way to run operations and complete all tasks.

Schedule:

Intramural programming runs on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 5:00 PM to 10:30 PM, so availability during some of these hours is required.
