Family Ministries Coordinator

We’re a small but vibrant Christian community that values the “messy middle”—a space where people from different perspectives and backgrounds can come together to love, challenge, and encourage one another in the way of Jesus. 

Now we’re looking for a Family Ministries Coordinator who shares our vision and wants to walk alongside our young people (PreK–12th grade; with a focus on 6th - 12th) as they grow in faith, community, and service.

What You’ll Do

You’ll help shape the next generation of disciples by creating meaningful opportunities for kids and teens to learn, connect, and serve. This includes:

Youth Ministry (Grades 6–12)

• Build a dynamic ministry that helps middle and high school students grow in faith and friendship.
• Lead weekly discipleship opportunities and consider additional gatherings based on community interest.
• Plan retreats, service projects, and additional events that invite students to experience God in new ways.
• Mentor and encourage youth, while partnering with parents to support their journey.

Children’s Ministry (PreK–5th Grade)

• Equip and support Sunday School teachers with curriculum, training, and supplies.
• Help shape lesson planning and create a warm, welcoming environment for children and families.
• Organize special events (for example: Vacation Bible School, holiday programs, etc.) with volunteers.

Volunteer & Leadership Development

• Recruit and mentor volunteers who feel called to work with children and youth.
• Encourage leadership development in both students and adults.

Team & Community Presence

• Be a visible presence on Sundays, engaging with families before and after worship.
• Communicate clearly and consistently with families and church leadership.
• Collaborate with pastors to steward ministry budgets and vision.

Who We’re Looking For

We’re seeking someone who is:

• Passionate about walking with children and youth in their faith journey.
• Warm, enthusiastic, and welcoming—especially to those new to church or exploring faith.
• Creative, organized, and proactive in shaping ministry experiences.
• A strong communicator who enjoys collaborating with pastors, volunteers, and families.
• Experienced in working with children or teens in church, camp, or educational settings.
• Committed to Redeemer’s core values and child safety policy.

What We Offer

• Compensation: $25/hr
• Schedule: Approximately 20/hr week (flexible, with Sundays required)
• Time Off: 2 weeks of paid time off annually
• Professional Growth: 1 week of continuing education per year ($750 budget, with rollover option)
