Office Assistant - Federal Work Study - COAS - Department of Biology
Summary
The Department of Biology is currently seeking to hire a motivated and detail-oriented Office Assistant through the Federal Work-Study Program. This position offers a valuable opportunity for a student to gain hands-on administrative experience while supporting the day-to-day operations of the office.
This position is only available to eligible Federal Work-Study Students.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist visitors in the office.
- Answer telephones, route calls to appropriate individual or take messages.
- Copy, print, scan and email documents.
- Organize the supply closet and track the inventory of office supplies needed.
- Update faculty and staff roster, brochures, and other documents when required.
- Perform data entry.
- Post flyers and job announcements for research opportunities on bulletin boards and throughout the building.
- Assist with special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Basic office skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational, time management, and customer service skills.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and other office software.
