Research Teaching Specialist V

The Rutgers Institute for Nicotine and Tobacco Studies (formerly Rutgers Center for Tobacco Studies) is undergoing dynamic and transformative growth. The Rutgers Institute for Nicotine and Tobacco Studies is one of the nation’s leading tobacco focused research centers and its faculty have received over $50 million in extramural funding over the past two decades. The Institute’s efforts are focused on their mission of reducing and ultimately eliminating, tobacco-related morbidity and mortality.

Five Centers or Programs currently operate at the Institute including a Tobacco Center for Regulatory Science, the Center of Excellence for Rapid Surveillance of Tobacco, the Tobacco Dependence Program, a Tobacco Industry Marketing Program, and a Tobacco Control Law & Policy Resource Center.

 

Rutgers is seeking a Research Teaching Specialist V for the Institute for Nicotine and Tobacco Studies, located in New Brunswick, NJ. Under the direction of the Assistant Professor, the Research Teaching Specialist V will carry out daily activities related to federally funded research protocols and assist with the conduct of investigator-initiated research and Institute-specific research projects and operations. This is an on-site, participant-facing role, ideal for Psychology or Public Health graduates who are interested in gaining research experience necessary for pursuing graduate education/research careers.

 

Duties include:

  • As directed, performs various research and technical operations relative to the ongoing investigatory activities of the laboratory.
  • Recruits and retains clinical trial participants.
  • Schedules and runs study visits according to study protocols.
  • Collects, processes, and ships bio samples.
