Join Our Team: School Outreach Contractual Workers Wanted!

 

We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our team as Contractual School Outreach Workers for our School Outreach Program at Norfolk Public Library.

 

Position: School Outreach Presenter/Facilitator for the School Outreach Program at Norfolk Public Library

 
Hours: Up to 20 hours per week


Location: On-site at local elementary schools and the Norfolk Public Library Service Center 

 

About the Role: As a School Outreach Presenter/Facilitator, you will play a crucial role in connecting with schools, students and educators to market the library and promote our educational programs and resources. Your efforts will help drive positive change and foster a love of learning within the community.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting age-appropriate PowerPoint presentations using a Smart Board or Projector
  • Communicating with the Project Coordinator 
  • Assisting with the organization and production of Outreach materials
  • Reporting on Outreach activities and outcomes
  • Traveling and transporting Outreach materials to multiple locations within Norfolk
  • Attending training sessions

 

Qualifications:

  • Must enjoy interacting with children of all ages
  • Must be passionate about libraries, education and community engagement
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Reliable transportation 
  • Ability to use technology including Laptop, Smart Board, Flash Drive, Projector, Camera and Microsoft 365 software
  • Must be able to pass a background check
  • Position requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
