Job Summary
AmeriCorps NCCC is a full-time, limited-term service program for young adults. During a 10-month term as a FEMA Corps Member, you can expect to
- Serve with a team of 8-12 other young adults
- Travel the country, all expenses paid
- Complete 3-6 different service projects with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). FEMA Corps service projects focus on disaster mitigation, planning, preparedness, and response. Examples include connecting disaster survivors with benefits, managing warehouses of supplies, evaluating emergency shelters, and more.
- Earn the Segal Education Award, which can be used to pay for educational expenses and qualified student loans

Qualifications
- This is an entry level role - no degree or prior work experience required to apply.
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Must be between ages 18-24
- Must be willing to travel throughout the United States and U.S. territories
- Must be able to earn a Public Trust Clearance
- Time Commitment: 40 hours per week from February - November 2024
Travel is a required component of the AmeriCorps NCCC program. During a 10-month term, FEMA Corps Members can expect to travel, live, and serve in 3-6 different states. You will spend 2-12 weeks in each state before moving to the next location. AmeriCorps NCCC will coordinate and pay for your travel expenses and housing, including travel from your current residence to our training facility in February 2026.
