General Description

The Store Supervisor role is to support the daily operations of our thrift store. This role includes assisting with store functions such as customer service, inventory, and donation processing, as well as serving in a leadership capacity as the “manager on duty” when needed. The Store Supervisor will help ensure smooth operations and uphold a positive, mission-focused environment for both staff and customers. [HORSHAM LOCATION ONLY: Start date is pending based on Horsham opening date (Fall 2025). Hired candidates will have the opportunity to work/train at our other locations prior to Horsham opening.]


 

Job Classification: Full Time. Non-Exempt

Pay Rate: $16/hour
 

Essential Job Functions

  • Actively support store operations by working at the register, stocking inventory, and sorting donations.
  • Provide friendly and helpful customer service while sharing Worthwhile’s mission.
  • Serve as manager on duty in the absence of the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager.
  • Open and close the store, including arming/disarming the security system.
  • Provide coverage when management is unavailable (vacation, sick days, etc.), with advance notice.
  • Create shift assignments for staff and volunteers when management is not available.
  • Troubleshoot issues with the Point of Sale (POS) system.
  • Assist in training new staff and volunteers on sorting, pricing, register use, and general onboarding.
  • Provide coaching and constructive feedback to team members.
  • Support the organization and workflow of the back workroom and donation areas.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years or older
  • High School diploma or GED certification is required 
  • Previous retail and customer service experience required
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to supervise others
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
  • Customer-focused, professional, and flexible in a dynamic retail environment
  • Basic math proficiency
  • Able to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for extended periods
  • Available to work Saturdays
  • Must maintain a consistent schedule of 37–40 hours per week

Preferred Experience

  • Prior management or leadership experience
  • Experience working in nonprofit or mission-driven environments
